In this one-day class, you learn:

  • Tools you'll need at home
    (as little as $80)
  • Selecting raw wood stock
  • Drawing the lines
  • Carving the flat side
    angle of attack)
  • Carving the round side
    (chord and aspect ratios)
  • Shaping tips
  • Fine Finishes
  • Changing airfoil characteristics to suit local wind conditions
  • Simple and complex electrical circuits
  • Setting up inexpensive towers and mounts.

Just ask and we'll include information with your kit on a variety of fine local establishments; some overlooking the water and several who offer discounts for our students.


Finish your blade with:

Select light or dark wood:

  • Your tuition includes the wood stock.
  • We also provide tools for the beginner class.
  • Master carvers should bring their own tools.
  • Once you pass the Master's Class, we'll even send orders your way.

Classes meet once a month and students may return free to repeat the classes or use our web classes free.
COURSES:

  • You may select any level. If you can come back, we suggest the Beginner class to start.

  • Beginner's class - 3 hours - start with a rough cut blade to save time.

  • Intermediate class - 5 hours - start with a raw stock.

  • Master's class - 8 hours - start with a raw stock premium wood.

Master's class starts at 10am in the morning. Intermediate students begin at noon and Beginners come at 1pm.

After class we usually all walk over the the local Half Moon Bay Brewery for some local Jazz, R&B and fine dining overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Pillar Point Harbor.

TUITION AND FEES:

  • Discounts for educational organizations, non-profit agencies, women and children etc..
  • Deposit - 50% to reserve a bench space.
  • Refunds - 100% if cancelled 30 days prior to class. No refund in final month.
  • Transfers - if you miss a class you can come at another time or give your certificate to another student.
  • Repeats - students may repeat the class free of charge.
  • Fees and schedules - Email us for schedules, questions and fees.
