Think you can't afford to unplug from the grid?

Many people turn away from wind and solar systems when they see the price tag of $50,000.00 or more. That's because they didn't shop around, educate themselves on the most reliable systems, the safest systems and the most affordable systems.

Here are two situations to consider:

  1. CONVENTIONAL METHOD: you contact a 'Licensed Alternative Energy Consultant' who may be a General Contractor that installed kitchen remodels last year and now installs solar and wind systems. They are going to offer you a great system with a huge price tag. Let's assume their suggested system costs $70,000.00, which is typical.

Perhaps you think with a rebate your cost will only be $35,000.00. Ok, let's use that figure.

  2. UNCONVENTIONAL METHOD: learn, apply elbow grease and save $25,000.00 or more.

    • Learn: we have tons and tons of classes, wind maps, airfoil discussions and output calculators at this site. The WindGenSuperStore.com and WindGenZen.com websites are the largest body of Wind Generator educational material on the web on planet Earth. It takes a little time, perhaps 1 or 2 evenings, but you will be armed with a fistful of knowledge that can save you TENS OF THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS.

Is that worth one or two evenings of your time?

    • Look at your utility bills and use the wind maps and calculators to figure out how large a system you need.

    • Start one step at a time. Some folks think one large wind gen is the way to go, but if that gen goes down, you are down too. Large gens are more expensive than several smaller units of equal capacity, difficult to mount and multiple units means you are never 100% down.

    • We suggest you purchase one generator at a time, get it up and let your home 'evolve' into alternative energy at an affordable pace, rather than sinking huge chunks of cash into a system you know nothing about.

    • Once your first gen is online and your home wiring is accepting alternative energy feed, then you can gauge how effective that system is at reducing your utility bill.

    • After a short time you will probably want to add to that system to further decrease your utility expense.

    • As you add a new generator to your system, your savings increase; you have more cash at the end of each month.

    • Payback periods on large conventional systems can take 5, 10, 15 years or longer. Solar PV can take 25 to 50 years to payback.

    • Payback on smaller unconventional, do-it-yourself systems can be as low as 1 or 2 years.

    • PERMIT PROBLEMS? Some cities, counties and states won't give you permits for home-built systems, even though most grid-tie systems are actually unreliable during a black-out. Click here so you are armed with the knowledge you need to change their minds.

    • NO REBATE FOR HOME BUILT SYSTEMS? Ok, your conventional system, with a rebate, still cost you $35,000.00 out of pocket.

Your do-it-yourself system, with no rebate, can be put together for as little as $1000.00-$2000.00 (learn how) or for less than $10,000.00 with wind generator gear you buy instead of make yourself.

Which system is 'more affordable'? The conventional system that costs $35,000.00 - $70,000.00 or a home built system that cost $10,000.00 or less?

Is a 'rebate'? a good thing if it still costs you an extra $25,000.00?

Are you willing to 'bang on city hall' to get your permits? You will need to help them understand that conventional alternative energy systems are not only out of reach for most families on tight budgets, but are also 'less reliable' during blackouts than systems you build yourself.

If you really want to be energy independent, we can help. We understand that even the $10,000.00 cost of setting up a do-it-yourself system may be out of reach for most families. If you own your own home, there is a way to make the move to wind power one-step-at-a-time with financing from the WindGenSuperStore

Before you fill out a credit application, please:

  1. Take a moment to find out how much wind you have and use the calculator at WindGenZen to figure out how large a system you want to build.

  2. Then go to our WindGenSuperStore and select the appropriate items; an airfoil and generator to start, and click the BUY button next to each item.

  3. Print the order form for the airfoil and generator you wish to buy - we suggest the larger 7, 10 and 12 foot airfoils for homes that want to be truly energy independent.

  4. Once you have printed the order form, then come back here (Bookmark this link) and fill out the credit application for the line of credit required to purchase the gear you have selected.

  5. Once you have both a purchase order and a credit application, please send them to:

    KCK: Attn Cheri
    P.O. Box 561
    El Granada, CA 94018

Once we review your application, your line of credit will be approved or declined. The good news is that 95% of all applications for lines of credit are approved.

If you have equity in your home, you can afford wind power TODAY! and you can install it for much less than you might think. With solar PV costing 20 times more than wind power for the same amperage, if you have a limited budget and want to slash your utility bills and have some reasonable wind at your location, it pays to start with a wind generator...and the WindGenSuperStore can make that dream an affordable reality that saves you money, month after month after month.
